The school was a buzz as students got transported back to the 1920s at the Indian Hills 2024 winter dance. The dance, inspired by the novel and the 2013 film The Great Gatsby, roared with music, singing, and dancing. Students enjoyed the food provided as well as the photo booth. Set up by members of the sophomore and freshman class student council, the Gatsby Dance transformed the cafeteria into a flashback in time to the Jazz Age.
Many students noted the major improvements compared to the homecoming dance from 2023-2024. Sophomore Sophie Fox describes how “This year’s decor and refreshments leaned a lot more on theme than last [year’s], and really made it feel like a special event.” The efforts of everyone who helped set up the homecoming dance, the teachers who advised and provided guidance and Interact’s contribution to supply food and drinks truly made it a special night.
In addition to the dance itself, the DJ kept students excited and upbeat. Students enjoyed capturing the night with the photo booth and props and creating memories with friends.
Looking forward to next year we are willing to get more ideas from students like you, on how we could make next year an even bigger hit than it was this year. We extend our thanks to everyone who helped set up, chaperone, and took some time off of their night to make this night special. An extra special thanks to those who attended and we can’t wait to see you there next year.
