Brady Dransfield, Indian Hills senior wrestling captain, has finally accomplished a goal he made during his freshman year: to claim the Indian Hills wrestling record for most wins in a career. The previous record of 108 was held by Former Brave, Austin Wall, over 24 years ago. Dransfield currently has 116 wins and still has some time left in the season to extend his record. Dransfield comments, “It was surreal to finally break the record. I knew I was getting close to it at the end of last season and it was something that I had always chased.”
Along with his name going on the wall for his accomplishment of most wins in school history, Dransfield was nominated for Athlete of the Week and was voted as the winner, resulting in his face being on the wall with many other great Indian Hills athletes. “Going through the interview process with the paper was so cool, it definitely made me grateful for the team we have here at Hills and the Coaches that helped me get to this point,” Dransfield remarked.
During Dransfield’s wrestling career, he has achieved many other school records: most wins in a season, most takedowns in a season, most takedowns in a career, most two-point near-falls in a season, and most wins in a career.
