The Indian Hills community features many seniors committed to a wide range of leadership within extracurricular activities. On Friday, January 24th, Drumbeats sent an anonymous survey to students and faculty to nominate high-achieving seniors who have made an impact on the FLOW community. The second-ever senior spotlight student selected is Sami Lampone. Sami has demonstrated dedication to leadership within the local community and is a source of inspiration for students within Indian Hills.
Sami Lampone is currently part of the Yearbook Club, Click Clack Front and Back, and was also a manager and statistician for the boys’ basketball team. As President of Click Clack Front and Back, she has worked with other members since her sophomore year on passing the bills S2125 and A433. She stated, “The law is focused on enacting a primary enforcement rear seat belt law, and the club has been recognized through a TV news interview, and will be going to Trenton to talk with legislators about the law.” Sami Lampone aims to showcase honesty, dependability, and hard work as a leader. She believes that “Honesty is essential because a great leader needs to build trust by being transparent and authentic. People will always be more willing to follow someone they know will openly communicate with them and act with integrity.” Sami’s piece of advice to underclassmen is to “Get involved early! No matter what it is that you do, find one or even multiple things that you enjoy and can become a part of. Getting involved not only helps to keep you busy, but it is also an opportunity to meet new people, form friendships, and learn more about yourself.”
Sami Lampone serves as a great inspiration for students at Indian Hills. Her experiences and advice can motivate underclassmen and other students when choosing extracurricular activities and planning their goals for the future.
