She made the switch with former assistant principal Mr. Guido and has greatly enjoyed her experience at the school so far. Mrs. Dargento is very passionate about her job and strives to do everything in her power to help students be successful. She is also very eager to learn more about the students, teachers, and school culture.
How has your transition from Ramapo to Indian Hills been so far?
“My transition from Ramapo to Indian Hills has been very smooth because all the students and staff have made me feel welcome from the moment I got here.”
Why did you become a vice principal?
“I was a business teacher for 16 years and I always thought it would be important to take more of a leadership role as a woman because when I was in high school there were not many women as administrators. I found I would be able to be a good role model for students, and myself to bring a different perspective to being an administrator. ”
What has your favorite thing about Indian Hills been?
“I have 2 favorite things about Indian Hills so far. First, I loved the pep rally for the opening game, and the student interaction was amazing. Secondly, I love that the alma martyr is placed every Friday, and I find it very indicative of the culture and strong roots of the school.”
What are your plans for the future?
“Professionaly I plan to continue learning the staff, and getting to know more about the culture at Indian Hills. I also look forward to helping that grow, and enjoying working with Mr. Bushta and Dr. Vacca. Personally, I plan to enjoy as much time as I can with my family outside of work, and find a very healthy work-life balance because I don’t wanna miss anything with my family.”
What piece of advice do you have for students?
“I believe that all 4 years of high school are equally important and I strongly believe that it’s important to be open-minded, honest, and to be kind to everyone and accept people for who they are. I also believe that it’s important during high school years to put yourself out there and step outside of your comfort zone and be willing to see what you get in return.”
