It’s safe to say that there are a lot of pizza places in the FLOW district. There are about 14 establishments total that serve pizza, and for many, these options can be overwhelming. So I went across the FLOW district to determine which had the best slice.
To ensure that each review was fair, I only went to restaurants that allowed walk-in orders for a single slice, which was 7 in total. So these are all places that are convenient enough to order a slice of pizza after a football game, a theater performance, or when you need to order food quickly. I also ordered a standard cheese for simplicity’s sake. Lastly, I evaluated each pizza percentage-wise based on the amount of dough, sauce, cheese, crust (both the crust at the end of the pizza and the crust on the bottom of the pizza), and oil. I also roughly graded each pizza out of 10 based on flavor: 1 being disgusting, and 10 being the best pizza I had ever tasted in my life.
Notable mentions not shown in the statistics include Juniors, Uncle Louie’s, and Franklin Lakes Pizza which all had exceptional customer service. But Uncle Louie’s Pizza was certainly the most personal, the owner and staff were pleasant enough to be willing to strike up a conversation with all of the customers. Additionally, Frank’s Pizza had the most spacious and formal atmosphere, however, this made the service less personable as there were many customers in the restaurant at once. Finally, Pizzeria Mandara, Franks, and Franklin Lakes Pizza served comparably larger slices.
After sampling all 7 slices of pizza, I’ve concluded that Juniors is the best place for a slice. Not only was the customer service excellent, but it was also flavorful for plain cheese pizza. Its sauce and dough was flavorful compared to all of the other restaurants, and the cheese was evenly distributed on top of the sauce. Furthermore, the crust on the bottom was crunchy, which is attributed to the fact that there was a minimal amount of oil. And most importantly, it was the least expensive: only $2.25 for a single slice.
Considering everything, I would say that Juniors is my new favorite pizza place. But that’s just my objective opinion, we want to hear yours! Stay tuned for the next edition, where we will ask the student body to settle the debate once and for all: where’s the best pizza in the FLOW area?
