The Indian Hills Theatre Company (IHTC) has come up with a creative alternative to in-person shows in order to premiere their opening night of Charlotte’s Web. In a pandemic setting, creative forces across the world have had to come up with solutions that enforce social distancing and the safety of consumers. This also applies to your local school theater program. As opposed to the traditional event in which students and parents gather in the school auditorium to see the show in person, the IHTC will be live-streaming their show for free. This will not only ensure the safety of viewers but will open up the opportunity for more students and faculty to enjoy the show from the comfort of their home.

IHTC director and club advisor Kim Marino says, “We were not going to let a pandemic stop the IHTC!  It was important to me to still provide a theatrical outlet for the students.  Both my Casties and Techies had the opportunity to still build a full set, lights, costumes, mics, etc. as a full theatrical production.  And now, the students benefit from the opportunity to see how it works to film a production. We are very excited to film the show soon, and for audiences to enjoy the show.  I could not be more proud of these students!” The show will be filmed during “tech week,” which takes place over the week of November 9th. It’s evident that the IHTC is taking advantage of this opportunity to perform, despite the conditions of the world. Actress Chloe Fatuova, playing Charlotte, says, “Getting a live audience is the true thrill of the club, but I’m happy enough to be even having a production at all considering the circumstances!” The show will be available for viewing on Friday, November 20, 2020, at 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 21, 2020, at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
