Although the Indian Hills track season has been over for weeks, Junior Max Daniels’ season continued. On Wednesday, June 12th, Daniels competed in the NJ State Meet of Champions for 400 meter hurdles, in which he finished 14th in all of New Jersey. Then just two days later, Daniels was off to Philadelphia, where he competed at New Balance Nationals on Franklin Field, the home of the University of Pennsylvania. “Max Daniels is the definition of self investment,” says Coach Ross. “The growth of Max in the last three years is a reflection of his willingness, attention to detail, and ability to flip the switch to a different level when he steps out on the track.”
Daniels received the honors of being 1st Team All County in the 400 meter hurdles after placing first place in multiple league meets this season. In the 400 meter hurdles rankings, Daniels was ranked 7th in states and 4th in Group 2 of NJ, in which he was awarded to be among the nations best runners. Coach Ross continues, “Over the course of this year Max has taken nearly 5 seconds off his personal best on his way to placing 1st Place in the Birg North League Meet, Bergen County Group C Meet, Bergen County Meet of Champions, and North 1 Group 2 Sectional Meet in the 400mH.”
