On November 9th, the Indian Hills cross-country team competed at the NJSIAA Group Championships in Holmdel and dominated the competition. Both the girls’ and boys’ teams worked hard all season to reach this point.
The Boys’ Cross-Country team finished in second place in Group One. In Group 1, Sophomore, Frank Coppa dominated the competition by finishing 5th overall, scoring him a spot in the State Meet of Champions.
The Girls’ Cross Country team also had a great meet with Senior Camryn Finn and Senior Summer Myhren finishing in the top 20 in New Jersey. Camryn Finn finished in 11th place and Senior Summer Myhren finished in 19th place. The hard work that was put in all seasons paid off. Myhren says, “State Groups went really well overall and I think it was a great way to end the season with a lot of personal records! It was a tough race but I was really happy to see the improvement since I last ran at Holmdel! Frank Coppa qualified for SMOC this Saturday so Hills XC isn’t done yet!”
Even though the cross-country season has ended, the Braves should still keep a lookout for Frank Coppa at the SMOC!
