Although the basketball season has ended, the girls had an extraordinary season. Their success began in December when they won the Holiday Tournament, setting the stage for an incredible 2025 season. Some of the team’s standout games included matchups against Lyndhurst, Pascack Hills, and Elmwood Park.
Alexa Kulhawy reflects on their game against Lyndhurst, saying, “I would vote Lyndhurst to be, by far, our best game of the season. This was the first round of counties for us, and after the first half, we were losing 18-25. We ultimately came back and scored 40 points and kept Lyndhurst to 3 points for the whole second half. We won 58-28.”
Another major moment for the team was their redemption win against Pascack Hills. After a tough first matchup, they came back determined and secured a 40-25 victory. In their game against Elmwood Park, the team put on an impressive performance, winning 56-39. Julia DiMasi led with 21 points, Morgan Quill contributed 9 assists, and Alexa Kulhawy scored her all-time high of 14 points that game.
Reflecting on the season, Grace DuMont shares, “The 2024-2025 season was a whirlwind, filled with challenges
and triumphs. Though it felt quick, the growth and resilience of our team was outstanding. We faced our ups and downs, but the girls learned valuable lessons and improved with every game. Winning our holiday tournament for the second year in a row was a highlight, as well as making it to the first round of states, where we unfortunately lost by just a couple of points but played intensely until the final buzzer. With every game, we left our hearts on the court. Next year, the team will come back stronger and ready to dominate.”

The Girls’ Basketball team’s hard work paid off when the girls made it to the first round of states. They stand as the only Indian Hills winter sports team to have continued their season this far. This game took place on Wednesday, February 26th against Cresskill. Indian Hills congratulates our Girls Basketball team and looks forward to seeing what they accomplish next season!
