On Monday, December 15, 2025, Indian Hills faced Veritas Christian for a Group 1 matchup. The stands were nearly packed for the home opener, as there are high hopes for the 2025-2026 Indian Hills Varsity Basketball team. Led by senior Ryan Vitale and juniors Charlie Brugna and Justin Finale, the Braves handled Veritas Christian with ease in front of their excited crowd. Brugna comments, “The crowd definitely made an impact, and most definitely got the boys more dialed in and made us focus up and perform to the best of our abilities. Definitely made us feel great and made a big impact in the win.” Brugna exploded with 29 points, scoring 11 2-point field goals, 1 three-pointer, and hitting 4 out-of-five free throws, terrorizing the opposing defense. The cause of the Braves’ momentum and distinctive lead was Justin Finale’s hot streak. Finale went 4-for-4 on three point field goals on 4 straight offensive possessions in the first quarter, solidifying the lead, and later the 75-34 victory.
As for major-impact players, Charlie Brugna leads the team with an impressive 22.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.9 steals per game, along with Justin Finale’s 14.1 points and 2 steals per game. Junior Matt O’Shaughnessy is also a player to look out for this season, as he is consistently doing his job and contributing with 5.25 points and 2.5 assists per game, as well as his 2.4 steals per game. (All statistics are accurate as of January 11).
