The hospital mockumentary sitcom “St. Denis Medical,” created by Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin, has returned to NBC with its second season. Premiering on November 3, 2025, new episodes are released on Mondays at 8:00 pm on NBC and available on streaming services such as Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and Peacock.
The show picks up a few months after season one, with Alex (Allison Tolman) just returning from a relaxing vacation to Hawaii. She struggles to keep her chill vibe while keeping up with the hospital and her role as head nurse. Additionally, things are tense between Matt (Mekki Leeper) and Serena (Kahyun Kim) as she realizes that he requested to be moved to a different work zone to avoid her. The season also starts with Joyce (Wendi McLendon-Covey) panicking when a donation benefactor checks to see how her birthing center is progressing.
As someone who loved season one and waited desperately for season two, I thought it was just as enjoyable and fun to watch. I thought that the episodes were filled with entertaining plot lines with many funny moments. I loved the small moments between Matt and Serena and learning more about Matt’s mysterious backstory. I also enjoyed Bruce (Josh Lawson) having more screen time, yet I was irked when he became best friends with Chaplain Steve (Stephen Schneider) and spent the subsequent episode searching for the male friendship he was “missing.” Nonetheless, the first few episodes lived up to my expectations and have left me on the edge of my seat waiting for the rest of the season.
If you have yet to watch either season, but you love sitcoms like “Superstore,” “Brooklyn 99,” and “Abbott Elementary,” be sure to check out “St. Denis Medical”!
