On Wednesday, January 21st, Harmonic Outreach, Student Council, and Interact collaborated to host Indian
Hills’ first Open Mic Night in years for its students in the cafeteria. The event featured a vibrant atmosphere with instruments set up on stage, creating an inviting space for performers. A variety of baked goods were also available for purchase, adding to the warm and cozy vibe of the night.
The program began with Ben Wuensch, Chris Casio, and Michael Reisch, who kicked off the night with Take Five by Dave Brubeck. Next up were Seulgi
Park and Julianne Walker, who performed their original song Wishing on a Star, followed by Alexander Noerr with his outstanding acting performance of The Miser. Gavin Hicks then took the stage
with Dirt by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Abby Manning read Flowering Gathering, Stopping by Wood on a Snowy Evening, A Late Walk, and The Road Not Taken all by Robert Frost. Matthew Khanlian followed up with a piano rendition of California and Me by Laufey. Two poetry performances followed, with Charlotte Manning reading her own piece Winter Walk to the City Lot, If I Should Learn, in Some Quite Casual Way by Edna St. Vincent Milay, and America by Claude Mckay. Shannon Cassidy concluded the night by reading her own works Untold Stories and Knowledge. The unique and diverse acts—along with a two-for-one cookie sale—made the event incredibly special and truly a night to remember. With the warm atmosphere, live performances, and delicious treats, it was an unforgettable evening. Be sure to look out for future concerts this spring, where another Open Mic Night and more exciting events will take place. Come out to support your friends and classmates and witness our school’s incredible artistic talents!
